"World of Discoveries": Explore the World with the Russian Geographical Society

We invite everyone aged 11 to 17 to participate!
World of Discoveries
The Russian Geographical Society’s "World of Discoveries" thematic shifts are a large scale project focused on science, research, and travel.
Participants conduct experiments, explore nature, and discover the vast world of geography. Over the past 10 years, the project has brought together more than 8,000 school students, offering them not only valuable knowledge but also a dream.

It is an excellent opportunity for cultural exchange, building friendships, and collaborative learning that broadens the horizons of participants from different countries.

Participants can look forward to:

  • Scientific and educational activities;
  • Field research and pre expedition training;
  • Environmental and geographic projects;
  • Team building activities and workshops;
  • Meetings with travelers, scientists, photographers, and researchers.
Who can participate?
The program is open to children and teenagers from around the world who have an interest in geography, ecology, local histories and related sciences.

    Thematic Shift: "Dream Summer in Artek"

    The legendary children’s center on the Black Sea coast, on the southern shore of Crimea. Here teenagers from different countries study, create projects, explore nature and make friends from around the world. It is a place of international communication where children work together on joint projects and learn to cooperate as a team.

    Dates: May 28/29 — June 17/18, 2026
    Age of participants: 11−17 years
    Location: Gurzuf urban‑type settlement, Yalta Municipality, Republic of Crimea

    You will take part in research projects, interactive master classes, and get to know the mountainous coastal landscape of Crimea, the coastal climate, and the natural environment of the Southern Coast first‑hand.
    You will learn methods for studying biodiversity and natural processes, work with maps and satellite data, develop navigation skills and design projects for the sustainable development of coastal areas.

  • All‑Russian Children's Center "Ocean"

    "World of Discoveries" by the Sea of Japan

    The All‑Russian Children’s Center "Ocean" is located on the shore of the Sea of Japan in Vladivostok. Its unique natural surroundings combine sea views, the rich flora and fauna of the Russian Far East, and modern educational facilities.

    Dates: August 31 — September 20, 2026
    Age of participants: 13−17 years
    Location: 10 Artek Street, Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai

    The program fosters research thinking and environmental awareness. Participants study marine ecosystems, learn about oceanology and explore ways to treat natural resources responsibly.
    In addition, the participants will follow in the footsteps of V.K. Arsenyev and Dersu Uzala, try their hands at being an explorer, and create their own travel notes.
